About Us

South India Fine Arts (SIFA) was established in 1979 & is a non-profit, 501 C organization. SIFA's mission is to promote, preserve, and present the various forms of fine arts of Southern India. These forms include, but are not limited to, classical, vocal and instrumental concerts, dance recitals, collaborative performances, plays and lecture demonstrations.
 
The goals of the Organization are threefold:

 

  • To provide a forum for the presentation of various forms of fine arts in the Bay Area

  • To serve SIFA sponsors by offering a balanced slate of cultural entertainment

  • To conduct educational workshops and collaborative performances to further the cultural heritage of India


SIFA is a member supported organization run by an annually elected committee of volunteer Office bearers, serving staggered terms to ensure long term stability & strength of the organization, as well as smooth running of its operations.
 
Enhancing the artistic quality and effectiveness of our programs is an ongoing goal of the Organization and as such, SIFA invites and presents artists of well renowned caliber from India and also collaborates with organizations based in other parts of the United States to bring top quality artists to the bay area to benefit the cultural interest & development of the area.
